    • Philadelphia defense verdict in a case that involved a dispute over liability where the defendant contended that her car was struck by the Plaintiff when Defendant's vehicle was in the middle of the intersection and her traffic light turned yellow. Plaintiff, who was 22 years-old at the time of the accident, alleged injuries to his neck, left shoulder, and back. The Plaintiff relied on an expert orthopedic surgeon, who provided evidence that the claimed herniated discs were related to the accident with the Defendant. Kiernan provided a defense expert neuroradiologist who testified that the herniations were not causally related and were, in fact, degenerative. Kiernan was able to elicit testimony inconsistent testimony of the plaintiff that affected his credibility on both liability and damages. After deliberating, the jury found that the Defendant was not negligent and rendered a verdict in the defendant's favor.
