John J. McGrath is a graduate of the University of Scranton, with a B.S. in Economics/Finance. He attended the Villanova University School of Law and received his law degree, graduating cum laude. At Villanova he served as a member of the Law Review and the law school Honor Board. Upon graduation, Mr. McGrath served as a law clerk for the Honorable James R. Cavanaugh, Superior Court of Pennsylvania.
Mr. McGrath joined Palmer & Barr as a partner in the Philadelphia Office. He concentrates his practice in several areas of civil litigation and has appellate and trial experience in a variety of matters ranging from federal and state court class actions, insurance coverage disputes, commercial litigation, automobile accidents, premises liability, product liability, to professional malpractice claims.
Mr. McGrath has been honored with Martindale-Hubble® AV Preeminent Distinguished Peer Review Rating™, an indicator of an attorney's highest ethical standards and professional ability, generated from evaluations by other members of the bar and the judiciary. Additionally, he has lectured to professional associations, including the Pennsylvania Bar Institute Continuing Legal Education section, and industry groups on various topics regarding litigation and insurance issues.
